On Looking Down on Others

Pride is looking down on anyone. Perhaps the most subtle and ensnaring way then to become a Pharisee is to look down on Westboro Baptists.

Lion’s Claws

Paul and Nicodemus were proud and self-righteous Pharisees loved by God. What did God’s love look like for them? Jesus speaks hard words to Nicodemus. Jesus blinds Paul and then allows physical pain in his life to keep humble. While prostitutes and tax collectors loved by God get lion’s kisses, Pharisees loved by God get lion’s claws. God wounds the proud to save them.
